💛 YARA UPDATE

Today, Yara underwent surgery performed by Dr. Zlatinov. The news is both challenging and encouraging:

✅ Her right wrist was operated on (tenotomy) – the affected tendons were released, and the wrist is now straightened. To keep it stable, Yara will wear a splint for a while as we monitor her recovery. If excessive bending occurs, an additional surgery may be necessary, but for now, we are trying to avoid it.

⚠️ Unfortunately, her left wrist has no prospect of full recovery due to a damaged nerve. At the moment, amputation is not required, but the wrist will not function normally.

❗️🏡 WHAT YARA NEEDS NOW

At the moment, Yara is under medical supervision and receiving the necessary care at the clinic, but as important as the treatment is, the best thing for her is a home environment and someone by her side.

We are looking for a foster home or an experienced person who:

– can take her to follow-up check-ups,

– can provide daily care for her recovery,

– has patience and understanding for a dog with special needs,

– and most importantly – to restore her trust in people and her sense of safety.

Yara is already beginning to relax, but life in the clinic remains stressful. She still has treatment and recovery ahead, and it would be invaluable for her to go through this stage with a person by her side.

🙏 If you cannot help with a foster home, you can support Yara with a donation for her care at the clinic. Every contribution is vital to ensure her treatment can continue.

The pain in her legs is severe. But the pain in her soul is even deeper. And that is where true healing begins.

🐾 Yara Update — Her Difficult Journey, Both Physical and Emotional

We were waiting for the assessment from orthopedic specialist Dr. Zlatinov, who took on her case, so that we could honestly and clearly explain what comes next. Today, we finally have a picture — and it is difficult, but not hopeless.

1) How Yara feels today — physically and mentally

Yara lives in her own world of fear, but in the past few days, the first small yet important changes have begun to appear. Although slow, they show that she is starting to let people get close to her. She now eats in the presence of the veterinarians at Vet Family clinic, who care for her. She allows her wound to be cleaned, and the biggest achievement — she now lets herself be lifted in someone’s arms to go outside, as she still refuses to walk on her own. She moves with difficulty and seems most comfortable inside the clinic, where she moves herself to pee or poop on a diaper — she has no hygiene habits yet, but she keeps herself clean despite the difficulty of moving. She is beginning to allow gentle petting, but the process is extremely slow. We have also noticed a panic-level fear of men, which the veterinarians have confirmed. All of this shows one thing: socialization is a daily, quiet, and very challenging process — and it is key to her recovery.

2) What’s coming up medically

➡ Right Leg
Here begins real hope. A tenotomy is planned — a surgery to release the severely tightened tendons. At the moment, the wrist is in a severe contracture and cannot straighten. If the procedure is successful, Yara will be able to step more steadily and take her first real steps toward normal movement.

➡ Possible Bone Correction
After the first surgery, an additional correction of a poorly healed bone may be necessary, but this will be assessed over time.

➡ Left Leg
The situation here is far more complex — limited mobility, an elbow problem, and possible neurological damage. The doctors will decide whether intervention makes sense after we see how she puts weight on her right leg.

3) Socialization — the invisible part of the treatment

Yara needs to be treated not only physically but also mentally. At the moment, she is most comfortable in the clinic, around people she knows. She allows contact — slowly, carefully, and cautiously. Everything else frightens her. She has a panic-level fear of men, touching makes her tense, and going outside is only possible while being carried. And yet — every day she shows a little more trust toward the people caring for her.

What Lies Ahead
• Surgery on the right leg
• Recovery and rehabilitation
• Work on her psychological trauma
• Possible additional corrections
• Assessment of the left leg at a later stage

The road ahead is long and requires time, attention, and immense patience.

5) How You Can Help

❤️ Donations
We are raising a general donation fund to cover the surgery, daily care, rehabilitation, and the long period ahead. We cannot provide an exact final amount — the treatment will evolve according to her progress.

🏡 Foster Home
The ideal option is a foster environment, but the chances are minimal — the care is demanding, socialization is slow, and her mobility is limited. Realistically, Yara will likely live in the clinic for a long time.

Sharing and Support
Every share, every word of encouragement, and every bit of help — it all matters.

17.11. 2025

🩺 Today, the veterinarians took Yara for a short walk. As can be seen, she is very scared, and everything is new and unfamiliar to her. That’s why we are holding off on X-rays and tests — she needs a little time to calm down.

Step by step, we will help her get used to things, adapt, and feel safe.

The girl is fighting, but it is very difficult for her. She is timid, walks with difficulty, eats with appetite, but refuses to take her medication, so it is administered by injection. Her wounds are treated daily. We thank everyone who stands by her now and continues to hold her injured little paws… until together we can help her stand on four healthy legs. 🙏

16.11. 25 – YARA – admitted to Vet Family Clinic, Sofia

Yara is now with us and finally in safe hands at the clinic. She was immediately sedated so the veterinarians could clean and dress the terrible wounds, which had even eaten down to the bone… The pain this animal has endured — and continues to endure — is inhuman. Her little eyes speak louder than any words. She is very scared. She allows gentle petting, but she startles and tries to defend herself — not out of aggression, but out of fear and suffering. Tomorrow, the veterinarians will try to take her outside, but for now, she is highly stressed.

Her overall condition: tests for viral infections are negative. She is stable, eating, and despite her fear — she is now safe. In the coming days: she is scheduled for diagnostics with an orthopedic specialist — Dr. Zlatinov. Examination, tests, X-rays, and a decision on how to proceed, as her legs are in very severe condition.

But Yara is here. She is no longer alone.
We will do everything to bring her back to a life without pain.
We thank everyone who stands by her now and continues to hold her injured little paws… until together we can help her stand on four healthy legs. 🙏

14.11.25 – The Beginning and Story of YARA

This is Yara. Rescued, but broken… And now we have to save her all over again. We don’t know what’s coming. We don’t know how much pain her body carries.

We don’t know if she will ever walk normally. But one thing we do know: Yara cannot be left like this. She is only 7 – 8 months old. A baby who has already endured more than an animal should ever have to in its entire life. Two months ago, Yara was hit by a car. She was found by well-meaning people — but without experience and without the means to provide professional orthopedic care. Surgery was performed… but not by a specialist. And today, you can see the result…

Yara cannot put weight on her front legs. For months, she dragged herself across a concrete floor. From the constant friction, huge, bleeding wounds formed. The pain is constant. She has no support, no stability, moving by stepping on her bent limbs… And so it came to the decision that she should be euthanized.
Not because she doesn’t deserve to live — but because no one was prepared for the weight of this life. This is how Yara came to us. Rescued — and broken — by improper care. And now we must start from the beginning. The truth is difficult, but clear: without your support, we cannot manage, and this case is very serious — we are fully aware that Yara may remain waiting for adoption forever…

You have always stood by us in this difficult cause. We know you will not abandon Yara and that you will help us provide her with proper care and a chance at life.
We ask only one thing of you: stay with us until the end.
The road will be long — through donations, support, and sharing.
Let’s not allow another animal to suffer just because someone didn’t have the means or the knowledge to care for it properly.

We are expecting her to be transported to Sofia, to Vet Family Clinic, where she will be admitted and will stay while her treatment takes place.
Dr. Zlatinov personally — the person who has helped dozens of animals stand on their feet — will take on her case.
Examinations are upcoming. The surgeries are as well.
The treatment will be a long, difficult, and very expensive process — months, possibly years.

The rescue of Yara begins now. With you.
