Stray Angels Bulgaria is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2016.

Our main activity is rescuing stray animals in need. These are injured animals, sick animals, and animals that have been victims of abuse. The organization does not have its own shelter. Our capacity does not allow us to house and care for animals whose health condition is good and who simply need a place to stay. The animals are taken in by us and placed in a clinic, where they receive treatment until they are ready to move to a foster home, a pet hotel, or their adopters. The focus of our work is foster care, treatment, rehabilitation, socialization, and responsible adoption. Since its founding, SA has rescued and successfully rehomed over 1,000 dogs and cats in Bulgaria and abroad.
We also organize “Neuter and Return” campaigns as the only humane and legal method of reducing the population of stray dogs and cats in Bulgaria. The association’s team is small, but works diligently and strives to help as many animals as possible with the resources available. Every member of our team volunteers their time and is dedicated to the cause of humane treatment of stray cats and dogs, as well as improving the conditions in which pets are raised. Our work involves daily emotional and physical strain, especially in cases involving injured animals or those that have been victims of human cruelty. The association is supported only by donations and relies on the help of everyone who believes in the cause. Stray Angels Bulgaria does not receive support from municipal or state institutions, nor from other organizations.
