• Name : Chavo
  • Gender: Male
  • Breed : German Shepherd
  • Age : ~8-9 years
  • Size : 30 kg
  • Passport, vaccinations, chip : Yes
  • Castration : Yes
  • Medical condition : Healthy. Admitted to clinic with infected bite wounds and in very poor general condition. PCR and quadruple test-positive for heartworm and ehrlichiosis. A 30-day treatment with Doxacycline was completed, which ended on 16.07. Continues treatment with the Advocate pipette every month – up to 1 year.
  • Personality: Social. Of course selectively with other animals. He needs to get to know them first.
  • The story: Found on the road in the village of Mramor in a helpless state. He was probably domesticated and abandoned, having spent a lot of time in this state. With multiple bite wounds full of worms and emaciated, volunteers rescued him and took him to the St. Antim clinic – Sofia, helping to cover the initial medical bills. Together we will continue the fight to heal this suffering boy and do our best to find the Man who will never leave him again… We are grateful to anyone who helps us make this happen…
  • What kind of adopter is right for Chavo? Chavo’s adopter must have experience in raising dogs. Chavo is an old and calm dog, but has a breed-specific character. Sometimes reacts selectively to other dogs. The Chavo’s future owner must be willing to devote the necessary time and attention to helping him adapt to his new home and environment. He would feel good if he lived freely in a house with a yard and with people who lead a peaceful way of life. He is a faithful friend and a good companion.
  • Chavo is in a volunteer foster home where his foster carer is looking after him until a suitable adopter is found.

There is no longer a trace of the tormented Chavo:) The wound on his neck has healed, and he is enjoying the attention and care that his foster parent gives him. We hope she meets her Forever Man very soon! Thanks to everyone who supports it!

Chavo left the clinic a week ago and is now recovering under the care of his foster parent. The wounds are healing, the swelling is gone, he is calm, eating, taking supplements and feeling good. Treatment for heartworm (grade 1) continues, as do follow-up examinations. Chavo is very weak and has been in a lot of pain from the wounds…Probably the many holes in Chavo’s neck tissue are the result of a tight collar…He prefers to lie down, gets up only briefly to go to the bathroom and goes back to his bed … Whatever he’s been through, we hope he soon forgets it, gets well, and finds his Forever Man.

CHAVO is another found abandoned, useless boy and he needs help. Let’s be together by his side and help him heal and feel the love he deserves
Found on the road in the village of Mramor in a helpless state. The dog is a breed of German shepherd. It has a chip but no registered owner. It was probably domesticated and abandoned, spending a lot of time in that state. With multiple bite wounds filled with maggots and emaciated, volunteers saved his life. Together we will continue the fight to heal this suffering boy and do our best to find the Man who will never leave him again… We are grateful to anyone who helps us make this happen…
We are looking for a foster home, support for treatment and care until an adopter is found for Chavo.
If you would like to help with foster care or would like to adopt Chavo, write to us, or support him with care: https://strayangels.org/pomogni-na-chavo/
📈Chavo is in St. Antim clinic – Sofia, where he is being treated for dirofilarosis and anaplasmosis. It is powered because it is very weak (23kg compared to the standard 35kg). He needs quality food for optimal recovery. The wounds are washed and he is on an antibiotic.
Thank you to everyone who lent a hand to Chavo
