Lessie was adopted on 23.07.2024.

We have some incredible news to share with you! After a long and hard journey, Lassie has finally found her true family, ready to give her all the love in the world. ❤️

Lessy’s story is filled with challenges that she overcame with remarkable strength. When we rescued her, she was a tiny, trembling puppy battling the deadly disease distemper. After a long and tough treatment, Lassie fully recovered, and the tremors are now just an unpleasant memory.

After a long wait, Hristiana and David opened their hearts and home to Lessy. She eagerly explored her new surroundings and already feels at home. We’re excited to share some of her favorite moments from the past few days with you!

🙏 Thank you all for your unwavering support. Together, we saved another little angel, who is now starting a new life filled with love, attention, and care. 🐾

Lessy was one of the visitors at Dog Fest. She easily made friends with every visitor and showed how brave and sociable she is. There was no sign of her tremors and everyone who was familiar with her story was very happy to see her healthy and happy.

But as happy as she is there are things she misses. These are a permanent and safe home, surrounded by people who support her and give her unconditional love. We continue to actively search for an adopter for Lessy, and she is patiently waiting for her best friend to find her. That could be you. The first step is filling out a questionnaire. *link to questionnaire*

In December, a rabies vaccine, an injectable transponder (chip) and a European passport were issued.
At the beginning of January, Lesie was dewormed with Simparica + Drontal,
On 24.01 castration was performed + removal of three retained milk teeth + tartar cleaning. On the day of castration, another antigen test was done with tear secretion to confirm the statement that Lessie is not dangerous and contagious to other dogs.

Who allows to be stroked and who stands on all fours! Step by step, the still uncertain Lassie improves! He already goes to the occasion calmly and does his needs. Although she is still very timid, the flame in her eyes says: “Thank you, good people! I don’t know this feeling and I’m still afraid to believe that someone cares about me and I can be loved!” VIDEO fb
Lessie’s 14-day antibiotic treatment ended with great progress considering the condition she was in when we found her. All costs for the treatment have been paid by 22.10. Thank you to all Donors! Lessie is in the clinic with the doctors who got her back on her feet and to whom we are infinitely grateful. They will continue to care for her until we find a home. However, this needs to happen as soon as possible because Lessie is not feeling well mentally, she is sad, she needs personal attention, and you know how important this is for her physical and recovery.
Now the most important thing is coming! Let’s help Lessie recover optimally and believe in the goodness and love of people! Let’s find Lessie’s Miracle together!
Here’s how we’ll do it:
1. Care with Love! Let’s find a Person for Lesi – an Adopter or a foster parent for care at home, a Person who will show her what love is. Lessie is over the nervous form of Ghana. It has a very high titer for antibodies, it does not radiate the disease, the tests are negative, but for your peace of mind it is recommended that it does not live with another dog. (for more information, we will contact the treating doctor)
2. Whole food and supplements instead of drugs!
Quality and complete nutrition, supplements, immune boosters and vitamins, for which we will fully trust @heartyapetite. We won’t tell you about the benefits of this diet because we all see the results: Remember the dogs Fire and Sammy.. and many more..
3. How can I help Lessie?
-Help with a donation for food and care: https://strayangels.org/pomogni-na-lesi/
Thank you to everyone who walks with us on the difficult path of our goal: Every homeless person has a home and a loved pet!

Today is the fifth day of treatment. Lessie makes slight progress, manages to stay on her feet for a while. The tremor also decreases.
Yesterday we did a test to prove or disprove the presence of antibodies for Ghana. It turned out that the antibody titer was very high (photo attached), i.e. this confirms our suspicion that the animal is suffering from the nervous form of Gana disease.
Considering the animal’s history, we doubt that the high titer of antibodies is a consequence of vaccination

Today, Lessie’s condition remains unchanged, she can’t keep her balance and is still afraid of us: VIDEO

The tics with which she was received are still on her face. On a positive note, he is eating and drinking water on his own, the other good news is that the rest of the necessary therapy arrived today and we are already administering it. A rabies test was done today, which was negative.

Update:

Lesi is the shivering puppy we rescued earlier today from the Forestry University base in the village of Yundola.
The puppy was placed in a clinic where 2 consecutive tests for Gana were performed. The tests came back negative but will be repeated tomorrow and more tests will be done to determine the cause of the condition and. Positive triple test for giardia. Treatment has been started. Lessie has constant tremors, but eats with appetite and is active. She is scared, tries to bite and does not allow touch. He also needs time to calm down. She is a baby about 4 months old, and she has been through so much pain..We are doing everything in our power to help Lessie get well and live! And we believe that you will be by our side in this struggle… Thank you and everyone who gave a hand to Lesi 🙏 See here a video from the clinic VIDEO

We launched a rescue operation for a dog with a suspected viral and infectious disease: Ghana. These cases require professional help and high precautions to avoid spreading the infection to other dogs. A difficult, risky and costly mission requiring human and professional resources, in which we hope you will help us with virtual assistance.
Treatment requires the animal to be in an isolated infection ward staffed by a separate team/person who is not in contact with other animals. We are doing our best despite the bad prognosis to save the dog… 🙏and we ask for your support!
