• Name/Gender: Belushka/female
  • Breed/Mix: Mix
  • Age: ~ 6 – 8 years
  • Castration : No
  • Medical condition: Sarcoma (squamous cell carcinoma) – starts at the tip or edge of the ear; gradually “eats” the tissue; can also affect the other ear, face, eyelids; progresses locally aggressively; metastasizes less often, but severely destroys the area if it cannot be operated on. 👉 This is the most common malignant tumor of the ears in cats, especially: in white cats; in animals that have lived outside for a long time; when exposed to the sun (UV). Belushka’s blood tests are normal. She eats well, is not weak and is lively. The tumor process has affected almost entirely one ear, has started to affect the other, as well as a larger tissue area in the head area, leading to mild swelling of the eyelids. At this time, surgery is not recommended. It is not possible to give an exact prediction about her life expectancy. It could be months, or it could be years – it all depends on the development of the disease and how Belushka herself feels. At the moment, she is in good general condition and without pain.

The triple test for viral diseases is negative, except that Belushka is FIV-positive (feline distemper) – a condition that many street cats live with for many years and which currently does not affect her quality of life.

FIV is not contagious to humans and is only transmitted between cats, primarily through deep bites.

Because of this, Belushka could live in a home or foster home without contact with other cats, unless they are also FIV-positive.

Information about Belushka↓

Yes, the diagnosis is the worst. Belushka has sarcoma. It can’t be operated on.

We don’t know how much time she has. We only know that she is not suffering now. And we will be with her. We will love her. We will pet her. We will take care of her.

We will only part with Belushka when she tells us she is in pain. Not before that. Every animal deserves to go away loved, not abandoned.

🏠Belushka is a social and calm kitten and could live in a home without contact with other cats. Due to the lack of foster care, she will be cared for in a clinic and we rely entirely on the support of people who want to be by her side until the end of her days. If you would like to donate Belushka with home care, contact us via the foster parent contact form: 🔗https://strayangels.org/priemen-dom/

↓THE STORY OF BELUSHKA

A white kitten with a severe wound that ate away one of its ears. It appeared at a clinic in the town of Yambol.
The woman who finds it says:
“She stood with her head bowed… and when I approached, she stretched out her paws for me to pick her up.” 🐾

She was probably abandoned because of her health problem.
There is a suspicion of sarcoma and it has been suggested that she be put to sleep –
“there is nothing to be done”.

But how do you put a kitten to sleep that purrs, caresses, and kneads with its paws?
Despite the poor prognosis, she wants to live.

We cannot accept this without having done all the necessary research and without trying everything possible.
We believe that together we can give her a chance – the best care and treatment. And with love.

We named her Belushka. 🤍

We will not think about the end. Even if it is close – we will be with her.
And she will be loved. Not abandoned.

Belushka is traveling to Sofia, where we will place her in a clinic.
We will do everything we can for her.
And we hope you’ll be there for us🫶
